🍤 Recipe: Coastal Koli Style Fish Curry (Kolambiche Rassa)
🧾 Ingredients:

Medium-sized prawns (cleaned) or Surmai/Bangda fish – 500g

Onion – 2 medium, finely chopped

Tomato – 1 medium, chopped

Grated coconut – 3 tbsp (fresh or dry)

Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp

Tamarind pulp – 1 tbsp

Oil – 3 tbsp

Salt – to taste

Water – as needed

Fresh coriander – chopped for garnish

Koli Mix Masala – 1 tbsp

Malvani Masala – 1 tbsp

Roast Coconut:
Dry roast the coconut in a pan till golden. Cool and grind to a paste. -
Make the Base:
Heat oil in a kadhai. Sauté chopped onions until deep golden. Add ginger-garlic paste, cook for a minute. Add tomatoes and cook till soft. -
Spice It Up:
Add all the masalas one by one: koli mix, malvani, fish, jeera powder, and garam masala. Cook the masalas until oil starts separating. -
Blend the Curry:
Add the coconut paste and tamarind pulp. Stir well. Add water to make a thick curry base. Boil for 5–6 mins on medium flame. -
Add Fish/Prawns:
Add cleaned prawns or fish pieces and cook on low heat for 7–10 mins. Don’t over-stir to avoid breaking the fish. -
Final Touch:
Garnish with fresh coriander and let it rest before serving.
